The series features stories of inspiration about people and families who are fighting serious or even incurable diseases. The latest episode is the first of a two-part conversation with Fight SMA President Martha Slay, who has been called the “Original FighterMom”. In this episode, she discusses being a FighterMom and gives details of the recent Fight SMA National Spinal Muscular Atrophy Conference, held in Washington D.C.
Fight SMA is an international organization working to accelerate a cure for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). SMA is the leading genetic killer of children under two, occurring in up to one in 6,000 births.
